Tigers Take Down Owls in Straight Sets

Springfield, OH – The Wittenberg Tiger women's volleyball team got back on the winning track with a sweep of the Owls from Kenyon College (25-14, 25-19, 25-21). With this win, Wittenberg earns their first North Coast Athletic Conference win of the season, improving to 1-1 in conference play.

The Tigers got off to a quick start opening up with a .429 sideout percentage in the first set, putting down 13 kills on 28 attacks with one error. On the opposite side of the net, the Owls offense struggled to get going by converting at a .043 sideout clip with just six kills in the first set on 23 attack attempts.

Wittenberg would finish hitting over .170 in the final two sets, putting down 14 kills in each of the final two sets.

Tyler Linkhart tallied a team-high 12 kills on 24 total attacks finishing with a .375 hitting percentage on the day. Kendall Black posted a team-high .500 hitting percentage with at least 10 swings, recording six kills with one error. Mack Ricketts and Ally White kept the Tiger offense in form as Ricketts contributed 26 of Wittenberg's 41 assists and White tallied 16 of the teams 48 digs.
