Tigers Fall in Road Battle at Transylvania

Lexington, KY – The Wittenberg Tiger women's volleyball team fell in straight sets to the Pioneers of Transylvania University (24-26, 24-26, 17-25).

It was a fight to the finish in the first two sets, with each time fighting to win by two at the 25-point mark. Wittenberg put down 13 kills in the first set for a .151 sideout percentage with the Pioneers coming out on top by a slim margin with 16 kills.

The second set saw a similar result, with the Tiger attack fighting to the final point. Wittenberg would outshine the Pioneers in the second set with 16 kills to Transylvania's 12, eventually falling short. Through the first two sets, the match saw 10 lead changes and 24 tie scores.

Wittenberg's Kaili Worcester would tally a team-high nine kills on the evening. Worcester added six digs to her total. Tyler Linkhart and Kendall Black posted seven kills apiece. Black recorded a team-high .400 hitting percentage with 15 attack attempts, while adding two blocks. Mack Ricketts and Jenna van der Biezen facilitated the Wittenberg offense with Ricketts posting 15 kills and van der Biezen finishing with 13.
