The Wittenberg University volleyball program added to its tradition of academic excellence by earning the 2021 USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award for the fifth year in a row.
 
The Tigers, which was recognized for the 18th time since the award was first presented at the conclusion of the 1992-93 academic year, is tied for 14th all-time among all Division III programs.
 
Wittenberg was among a record 233 Division III teams that were honored for recording a minimum combined 3.30 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale, or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale.

The Tigers, who finished the 2020-21 season with a 7-2 record. Wittenberg will get set to open the 2021 season on Wednesday, September 1 when they host the Cardinals of Otterbein University.
