No. 8 Tigers Close Out MIAA/NCAC Crossover Challenge With A Win Over Albion

Lansing, MI – The No. 8 Wittenberg women's volleyball team was back in action on Saturday for day two of the MIAA/NCAC Crossover Challenge, taking on No. 17 Hope College and Albion College. Wittenberg suffered a tough loss in the first match of day two, falling to Hope 3-0 [25-21, 25-14, 25-13]. The Tigers bounced back to take down the Brits of Albion College 3-1 [25-19, 20-25, 25-21, 25-22].

Hope Match Breakdown

The Tigers looked to bounce back against another tough MIAA opponent on Saturday morning, and their second Top 25 matchup in two days. Wittenberg tallied 23 kills on 85 total attack attempts. Sidney Reeder led the Tiger attack with five kills, Paige Kucinic and Sarah Hettich added four kills on the afternoon.

Albion Match Breakdown

The Tigers wrapped up the MIAA/NCAC Crossover Challenge, taking down the Albion Brits 3-1 [25-19, 20-25, 25-21, 25-22]. Wittenberg opened the match with 11 kills on 36 total attack attempts. The Red and White closed out the match with a .154 hitting percentage, knocking down 10 aces and tallying seven blocks.

UP NEXT : Wittenberg will return to action on to make their home debut on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 13-14 for their annual Fall Classic. The Tigers will take on No. 12 Wis.-Whitewater on Friday at 7:00 PM.
