SPRINGFIELD, Ohio—#3 Wittenberg women's volleyball stepped away from NCAC play to take on two very talented visiting teams in Maryville and Otterbein on Saturday. The tri-match schedule featured the Tigers squaring off against Maryville in the morning and Otterbein in the afternoon, as the Tigers were able to move to 14-3 on the year with two impressive victories. Wittenberg handled Maryville 3-0 in the morning match; 25-15, 25-22 and 25-19. In the afternoon tilt, Wittenberg also won decively 3-0, this time over the Cardinals of Otterbein; 25-15, 25-21, 25-15. The two victories came on a day where Wittenberg athletics and the Tiger volleyball program honored its seniors; Moriah Eck, Kendall Farmer, Courtney Huck, Emily Kahlig, Jenny Lehman, and Camila Quiñones on senior day.
MARYVILLE NOTES
- Quiñones dominated the morning match, totaling 10 kills, while junior outside hitter Maddie Fischer chipped in nine kills.
- Huck and Wildemann recorded 19 and 18 assists respectively, as the senior and sophomore setter-combination put the Tiger hitters in good spots all morning long.
- Kahlig recorded seven kills against Maryville, as the senior also recorded three service-aces in the 3-0 victory.
- As a team, the Tigers best set was the third set, as the red and white produced a .324 kill-percentage.
- The Tigers held Maryville to a .010 kill-percentage in the win, recording 55 digs to Maryville's 39.
OTTERBEIN NOTES
- In the afternoon match, the combination of Quiñones and Fischer went for 21 kills on 42 total attacks in the non-conference tilt.
- Wildemann was all over the court for the Tigers, totaling a season high 36 assists for Wittenberg.
- Madison Manger and Olivia Nortz recorded 12 digs each in the win, while Nortz chipped in four kills.
- Wittenberg kept the Cardinals off their game all afternoon, as the team from Westerville managed to produce a kill-percentage of .089 on the afternoon.
