Springfield, Ohio – Wittenberg University women’s volleyball senior right-side hitter Kara Seidenstricker (London, Ohio/Jonathan Alder) has earned 2015 first-team All-Great Lakes Region honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) for the fourth straight year.

Student-athletes who make the first team in regional voting are automatically considered for All-America awards, which are announced at the AVCA’s annual banquet the night before the national quarterfinal matches, hosted this year by Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Seidenstricker leads the Tigers for a fourth straight season with 290 kills and 59 service aces, in addition to 344 digs and 39 blocks, which rank second and fourth, respectively, on the team. The 2012 NCAA Division III Freshman of the Year, Seidenstricker has been charged with just 27 reception errors in a whopping 418 attempts in the 2015 season.

She has earned first-team All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) honors four straight years, in addition to the league’s Player of the Year award in 2012, 2014 and 2015. Seidenstricker was a first-team All-American in 2012, second-team All-American in 2013 and a first-team All-American in 2014. In addition, she has been recognized with first-team Academic All-District honors three straight years and first-team Academic All-America in 2014.

Seidenstricker ranks seventh in school history with 1416 career kills, and she also ranks 10th in school history with 1403 career digs.

The Tigers finished the 2015 regular season with records of 24-2 overall and a perfect 8-0 in the conference en route to their 21st NCAC regular season and tournament championships. Wittenberg, ranked sixth in the latest AVCA poll, earned its 20th straight (21st overall) bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament, which starts Friday, Nov. 13, with a first-round match against Bluffton University at Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pa.
