DELAWARE, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers were pushed unexpectedly but still managed to pull out a 3-1 victory on the road at North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) rival Ohio Wesleyan.

In winning the third set, Ohio Wesleyan snapped a 15-year drought against Wittenberg. The last time the Battling Bishops won a set against the Tigers was Oct. 7, 1999, when college volleyball was still decided by side-out scoring system.

The win improved the sixth-ranked Tigers to 9-3 overall and 2-0 in the NCAC, while Ohio Wesleyan fell to 11-4 overall and 1-1 in the league. Wittenberg has now won 45 straight NCAC regular season matches while extending its mastery of Ohio Wesleyan to 29 in a row, dating back to 1996.

Wittenberg won the first two sets by scores of 25-21 and 25-15 before the Battling Bishops struck back to pick up a 25-20 decision in the third frame. Wittenberg then closed out the match in the fourth set 25-20.

As usual, junior Kara Seidenstricker (London, Ohio/Jonathan Alder) led the way with 14 kills and 10 digs. Junior Melissa Emming (West Chester, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) was right behind offensively with 13 kills, while the defense was paced by senior Kiah Murray (Yorktown, Ind./Yorktown) with 20 digs. Senior setter Meghan Vodopich (Canton, Ohio/Perry) rounded out the team's statistical leaders with six kills, nine digs and 41 assists.
