Tigers Cruise To Sweep Of Baldwin Wallace

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The Wittenberg volleyball team bounced back from last night's loss to Cedarville with a sweep of Baldwin Wallace tonight in Pam Evans Smith Arena.

With the non-conference victory, the Tigers improved to 15-8 overall. Remaining non-conference tilts include a match with Case Western on Saturday, Oct. 26, part of a tri-match at Allegheny in which the Tigers also play the Gators in a North Coast Athletic Conference contest, and Senior Recognition Night against Northwestern Ohio on Friday, Nov. 11.

With just four matches left on the regular season schedule, the Tigers were all business against Baldwin Wallace. Wittenberg hit .256 as a team and limited the Yellow Jackets to -.046 hitting and only 12 kills in the entire match.

Wittenberg put up 11 team blocks and served for 10 aces, led by three apiece for sophomore Katie Zito (Canton, Ohio/Massillon Jackson) and sophomore Kara Seidenstricker (London, Ohio/Jonathan Alder).

Junior Meghan Vodopich (Canton, Ohio/Massillon Perry) was again impressive with 25 assists and six kills and no errors in seven attack attempts (.857).

Seidenstricker led the team in kills with 12 on .333 hitting, followed by freshman Camila Quiñones (Sunbury, Ohio/Worthington Christian), who racked up nine kills with two errors in 27 attempts (.259).

Senior Andrea Behling (Columbus, Ind./North) and sophomore Melissa Emming (West Chester, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) each contributed six kills to the effort. Seidenstricker posted a team-best 16 digs, followed by Kiah Murray (Yorktown, Ind./Yorktown) with 14 and Vodopich with 13.

The Tigers resume NCAC action at Hiram on Friday, Oct. 25, with first serve scheduled for 7 p.m.
