LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Wittenberg Tigers ran their winning streak to eight in a row with a pair of 3-0 sweeps in a tri-match hosted by Transylvania.

The wins over Rose-Hulman and Transylvania moved the Tigers to 10-5 on the season. Wittenberg has won 19 straight sets, going back to the fourth set win over Otterbein on Sept. 14, with the last seven wins coming by 3-0 scores.

The day started with a 25-19, 25-13, 25-13 decision against Rose-Hulman. The Tigers were efficient on offense, attacking at a .283 clip, led by sophomore Kara Seidenstricker (London, Ohio/Jonathan Alder) with 11 kills and a .526 attack percentage and senior Andrea Behling (Columbus, Ind./North) added eight kills in 13 swings without an error.

Seidenstricker was just as effective on defense with 11 digs, and she even etched her name in the program record book with nine service aces, one short of the overall school record but tops in the 25-point set era.

Also of note, junior setter Meghan Vodopich (Canton, Ohio/Massillon Perry) dished out 28 assists and pulled up nine digs, and sophomore Katie Zito (Canton, Ohio/Massillon Jackson) led both teams with 21 digs.

Against Transylvania, Wittenberg picked up the win by scores of 25-21, 25-20, 25-20. Seidenstricker again topped the offense, this time finishing with 10 kills and a .375 attack percentage.

Behling and sophomore Brooke Barney (Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne) added plenty of support with seven kills apiece. Vodopich matched her assist total from the first match with 28, while Zito was tops in digs with a modest 12.

A statistic of note against Transylvania was the Tigers' defensive play at the net. Seidenstricker and sophomore Bryanna Jay (Girard, Ohio/Girard) each finished with four blocks, while Behling topped Wittenberg with five.
