Tigers Sweep Past Kenyon, 3-0

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The Wittenberg Tigers made short work of visiting Kenyon, sweeping past the Ladies by a 3-0 score to remain unbeaten in the 2012 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) regular season title chase.

The win was Wittenberg's 35th in a row over Kenyon, dating back to 1990. The Ladies have not won a set against the Tigers since 2000.

The third-ranked Tigers won by convincing set scores of 25-11, 25-12, 25-14 to improve to 12-3 overall and 4-0 in the NCAC. Kenyon fell to 3-11 overall and 1-2 in the conference.

Junior Andrea Behling (Columbus, Ind./North) led the way offensively with 11 kills and a .529 attack percentage. She added three blocks to match freshman Bryanna Jay (Girard, Ohio/Girard) for match honors in that category. The Tigers finished with six team blocks, while Kenyon did not register a block in the match.

Also of note on the attack were freshmen Haley Mucha (Lewis Center, Ohio/Olentangy Orange) and Melissa Emming (West Chester, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame), who finished with seven kills apiece. Sophomore Meghan Vodopich (Canton, Ohio/Perry) dished out 14 assists, and the defense was paced by senior Jessica Batanian (Sylvania, Ohio/Notre Dame) with 13 digs.
