Tigers Cruise Past Oberlin, 3-0

OBERLIN, Ohio — The fourth-ranked Wittenberg Tigers improved to 15-2 overall and, more importantly, 5-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) with a 3-0 sweep at Oberlin.

The Tigers won by set scores of 25-15, 25-11, 25-11, in the process setting the stage for a busy week of important conference matches. Wittenberg is slated for a road trip to much-improved Kenyon on Tuesday before welcoming Allegheny and Hiram for matches next weekend. The Terriers ended Wittenberg's record NCAC regular season win streak at 67 straight matches on Sept. 26 and currently lead the NCAC title chase.

In the win over the Yeowomen, junior Kimmie Dyer (Copley, Ohio/Copley) led the offense with a phenomenal 14 kills and 0 errors in 20 attempts for a .700 attack percentage. She was ably backed by junior Katie Sumner (Dublin, Ohio/Watterson) with seven kills, a .583 attack percentage, and four blocks, and junior Catherine Farny (Fort Wayne, Ind./Concordia Lutheran) with nine kills.

Senior setter Amy Cox (Newark, Ohio/Catholic) was outstanding as well, finishing with 36 assists.
