Tigers Take Care of Big Red to Get 20th Win

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Tiger volleyball team continued to roll through North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) play with a 3-0 win over Denison to kick off Homecoming Weekend.

Junior setter Erin Slattery (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Kenston)dished out 23 assists on the night for the Tigers as they came away with 25-19, 25-12, and 25-18 set victories. On the receiving end of a number of those sets was senior right-side hitter Jackie Williams (Rocky River, Ohio/Magnificat), who pounded down nine kills. Senior middle hitter Jessica Kimble (Dennison, OH/Claymont) also got in on the act, nailing down seven kills of her own.

Defensively, junior middle hitter Kate Snead (Westerville, Ohio/South) collected four blocks while senior libero Laura Fender (Toledo, Ohio/St. Ursula) made 19 digs. The Tigers moved to 8-0 in the NCAC, with one more match against each of their conference foes upcoming.

The second trip through the double-round robin begins on Wednesday, Oct. 15, when Ohio Wesleyan visits Pam Evans Smith Arena for a 7 p.m. opening serve.
