Wittenberg Sweeps Again, This Time At Denison

GRANVILLE, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers' march through the 2007 schedule continued Friday with a 3-0 sweep at Denison. It was the Tigers' 11th straight three-game sweep, dating back to a Sept. 14 match against Hope.

By scores of 30-16, 30-15, 30-10, Wittenberg ran its streak to 35 straight games (11 sweeps and the last two games against Hope). Overall, the second-ranked Tigers improved to 23-0 overall and 7-0 in the North Coast Athletic Conference with the win. Denison is 9-7 overall and 3-3 in the NCAC.

Offense was the story for the Tigers as they hit a phenomenal .545 as a team. Leading the way were junior middle hitter Jessica Kimble (Dennison, Ohio/Claymont) with 10 kills and an .833 attack percentage and senior outside hitter Jan Kehres (Alliance, Ohio/Alliance) with 12 kills and a .632 attack percentage.

Senior setter Sarah Matesich (Granville, Ohio/Newark Catholic) dished out 26 assists to set the table.
