Wittenberg Downs Berry In Emory National Invitational

ATLANTA, Ga. - The Wittenberg Tigers rolled on toward what they hoped would be another tournament title in 2004, taking care of business against Berry College in the third match of the Emory National Invitational. In capturing a 3-0 win, the game scores were 34-32, 30-25, 30-13 as the Tigers improved to 27-1 overall on the campaign.

Playing for the third time in school history as the No. 1 team in the nation, the Tigers looked the part and even provided a glimpse of the future. The freshmen trio of Emily Bell, Caitlin Augustus and Jan Kehres posted kill totals of 13, 12 and 11 respectively to lead the offense.

On defense, it was the always steady senior libero Emilie Schmid posting 28 digs.

The Tigers were back in action in the afternoon and match No. 4 on the weekend, this time against nationally ranked host team Emory.
