Tigers Roll Past Capital

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers cruised in surprisingly comfortable fashion in the first match of the Wittenberg Invitational III, taking the measure of Ohio Athletic Conference contender Capital by a 3-0 score. The game scores were convincing - 30-18, 30-9, 30-23.

After winning the first game 30-18, the Tigers stunned Capital by winning the first 15 points of the second game on the serve of senior Aubrey Anderson. She finished with seven aces in the match, several of which came in that flurry.

Senior Emilie Schmid moved to within two digs of the school and conference records for digs in a season as she spearheaded the defensive effort with 29 digs. Junior middle hitter Emily Dixon finished with 14 kills, backed ably by the outside hitting tandem of freshman Emily Bell with 12 and senior Monica McDonald with 10.
