Wittenberg Defeats Wooster In Battle Of NCAC Unbeatens

WOOSTER, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers remained perfect in the North Coast Athletic Conference on the 2004 season, registering a convincing win over Wooster 3-0 in a battle of unbeaten first-place teams. It was the most significant step yet toward an eighth straight NCAC regular season title, and it improved the nationally ranked Tigers to 17-1 overall on the season.

Only one of the three games was close as the Scots hung tough with Wittenberg in the early part of the match before the Tigers kicked things into gear. The game scores were 30-27, 30-16, 30-10.

Two Tiger players reached double figures offensively as freshman outside hitter Emily Bell stacked up 12 kills and senior middle hitter Kristin Fox contributed 11 kills to the attack. As a team, the Tigers were outstanding offensively with a .300 attack percentage. Senior setter Sarah Yuskewich was stellar with 42 assists and senior libero Emilie Schmid did her thing, adding 28 digs to the effort. Both were game-high figures for either team.
