3-0 (30-21, 30-24, 30-15) - Box Score

The No. 4 seed, Ohio Northern University, was just too much for the No. 5 seed Catholic University of America, pulling off a comfortable 3-0 quarterfinal round victory on Thursday at Wittenberg University's HPER Center in Springfield, Ohio. The Polar Bears move into the semifinals and, for a third straight year, will take on the Wittenberg Tigers in that round for the right to advance to the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Championship Match on Saturday.

Ohio Northern, the regular season Ohio Athletic Conference titlist and the 11th ranked team in the nation currently, was overpowering when needed and scrappy on defense. Setter Erika Roof had 50 assists, primarily setting up Tara Anderson, who finished with 20 kills, and Hannah Kanuckel, who added 16. Both players finished with hitting percentages above 340, and Anderson committed just one attack error. Defensively, four Polar Bear players reached double digits in digs, led by Molly Schrader's 23.

Catholic, which get into the tournament by winning the Capital Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championships, spread the offensive opportunities around very evenly, putting two players in double digits with kills while five players in all put away at least five kills. Tory Neyer led the way for the Cardinals with 12 kills, while Anji Wall chipped in 10 more. Bridget Guetle contributed 35 assists and 11 digs, while Neyer added 10 digs.
