COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. - The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) is proud to announce the 22nd annual AVCA All-America teams for Division III women's volleyball. The awards will be presented Dec. 5, 2002, at the NCAA Division III Women's National Championship banquet at Hamilton Center on the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater campus. The Division III semifinals on Friday and consolation and championship on Saturday are scheduled for 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. each day in Gymnasium 4 at the Williams Center at UW-Whitewater.
The AVCA expanded its All-America program this season to include a 12-member third-team and an AVCA National Freshman of the Year.
The 2002 All-America selections were made by the AVCA Division III All-America Committee: Jenny McDowell, Emory University, chairperson; Joel Dearing, Springfield College; Janet Donovan, Ithaca College; Kimberly Kelly, Gettysburg College; Mark Massey, University of Puget Sound; Kim Nelson-Brown, Illinois Wesleyan University; Connie Surowicz, Wittenberg University; and Cole Tallman, University of St. Thomas (Minn.).
