Joel Drake

Joel Drake has served his alma mater as an assistant coach the track and field team since 2014 and the cheerleading team since 2013.

Drake is a two-time North Coast Athletic Conference champion in the outdoor discus and won the indoor shot put, and helped the outdoor team to top-two finishes in the conference meet all four years, including the 2002 team championship, and two runner-up indoor team finishes.

His coaching experience includes time as the head track coach at Greenon High School and head cross country coach at Indian Valley Middle School, both in Enon, Ohio, as well as time as an assistant coach for seventh- and eighth-grade football.

Drake was a constant presence on the sidelines of Wittenberg football and basketball games during his career as a Tiger cheerleader, which concluded in 2004 when he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology.

Drake went on to add an associate's degree in medical lab technologies at Clark State in 2005 and earned his Master of Education degree in comprehensive social studies from Antioch University Midwest in 2012. He lives in Springfield, Ohio, and teaches seventh grade social studies at Tecumseh Middle School in New Carlisle, Ohio.
