SPRINGFIELD, Ohio—On a cold wintery day in April, Wittenberg's track and field programs played host to the Wittenberg Tiger Invitational. The meet featured Central State and Thomas More, but was highlighted by the Tigers honoring the senior class of 2016 on Saturday. Wittenberg's seniors showed well on their honorary day, as multiple athletes took home top honors for the Tigers. When it was all said and done in Springfield, the Tigers topped the podium with ten first place finishes on the day, as the men's program placed in first as a team, with 221 points, while the women's team came in second with 154 points.

MEN'S FIRST PLACE FINISHES

• Tay Morton (Dayton, Ohio/Belmont) showed strong in the high jump, clearing 1.74 meters on his way to a first place finish.  
• Alex Owens (Enon, Ohio/Greenon) took home top honors in the pole vault with a finals height of 4.11 meters.  
• In the discus, freshman Eric Cospey (Trotwood, Ohio/Madison) threw 42.94 meters in the finals on his way to a first place victory.
• Senior Justin Fisher (Fort Wayne, Indiana/Carroll) capped off the last home meet of his Tiger career with a top-spot finish in the javelin, at 45.10 meters.

WOMEN'S FIRST PLACE FINISHES

• Senior Brea Medlock (Galena, Ohio/Big Walnut) continued her strong 2016, taking the 100-meter dash at 12.54 seconds.
• Odunayo Shobo (Columbus, Ohio/Westland) won the 200-meter dash for the Tigers, as the junior finished at 27.46 seconds in the finals.
• Senior Sarah Webb (Twinsburg, Ohio/Twinsburg) set the pace in the 5000 meter run, taking the finals heat at 21:02.54.
• Fellow senior Jordan Crow (North Las Vegas, Nevada/Palo Verde) garnished two top finishes for Wittenberg, first in the 100 meter hurdles at 15.71 seconds, and again in the 400 meter hurdles at 1:09.14 seconds.
• Senior Becah Delp (York, Pennesylvania, Eastern York) rounded out the day for the Tigers and her senior teammates with a first place finish in the high-jump at 1.46 meters.
