Brea Medlock Caps Season With Strong Run At NCAA Meet

CANTON, NY - Junior Brea Medlock (Galena, Ohio/Big Walnut) put the finishing touches on a spectacular 2015 track and field season with a 19th place finish in the 200-meter dash at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships.

Medlock, who also qualified for the 2015 NCAA Division III Indoor Championships, placed fifth in her heat of the 200-meter dash in a time of 25.51. Carly Fehler of Wisconsin-Eau Claire posted the top time in the preliminary heats of the event, crossing the finish line in a time of 24.24.

Medlock enjoyed a ground-breaking 2015 season that included North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Indoor and Outdoor Sprinter/Hurdler of the Year honors. She earned seven All-NCAC designations between the indoor and outdoor championship meets while competing in a variety of individual sprint events and relays.

Medlock was the first of three Tigers to compete at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships, hosted by St. Lawrence University. Senior Justin Yates (Dayton, Ohio/Bellbrook) will compete in the 400-meter dash on Friday and junior Justin Fisher (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll) will compete in the triple jump on Saturday.
