Women's Tennis continues unbeaten start with 8-1 win over Hanover

DAYTON — The Wittenberg women's tennis team continued its unbeaten start to the season with an 8-1 win over Hanover on Friday. At 6-0, the Tigers are off to their best start since the 2010-11 season when they won their first 10 matches.

The Match

  • Wittenberg opened the match by sweeping all three doubles courts.
  • Freshmen Kylie Wilson (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty) and Breanna Ball (Powell Ohio/Olentangy) won 8-2 at No. 1 doubles.
  • Freshmen Sophia Pischalko (Granger, Ind./Penn) and Lilly Hartman (Lexington, Ky./Henry Clay) won 8-4 at No. 2 doubles.
  • Freshmen Claire Loomis (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) and Marin Summers (Columbus, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) won 8-2 at No. 3 doubles.
  • The Tigers then won five of the six singles courts.
  • Wilson won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles.
  • Pischalko won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2 singles.
  • Ball won 6-0, 7-5 at No. 4 singles.
  • Hartman won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 5 singles.
  • Freshman Celeste Hartings (Tipp City, Ohio/Tippecanoe) won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6 singles.
  • Loomis fell 2-6, 6-4, 3-10 at No. 3 singles.
