Women's Tennis defeats Lourdes for third straight 8-1 win

DAYTON — The Wittenberg women's tennis team defeated Lourdes 8-1 on Sunday to improve to 5-0 on the season. It marked the Tigers' third straight victory by an 8-1 score.

  • The team of junior Caroline Sproule (Lewis Center, Ohio/Olentangy Orange) and freshman Kylie Wilson (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty) won the No. 1 singles match, 8-5. The No. 2 doubles team of freshmen Breanna Ball (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy) and Sophia Pischalko (Granger, Ind./Penn) came away with an 8-5 win. Freshmen Claire Loomis (Pittsburg, Pa./Upper St. Clair) and Lilly Hartman (Lexington, Ky./Henry Clay) took No. 3 singles, 8-2.
  • Sproule won 4-6, 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles.
  • Wilson won the No. 2 singles match 7-5, 6-1.
  • Loomis dropped No. 3 singles 2-6, 2-6.
  • Pischalko came away with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles.
  • Ball won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 singles.
  • Hartman won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 6 singles.
