TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — The Wittenberg women's tennis team opened the spring portion of its 2023-24 schedule with an 8-1 win at Rose-Hulman on Saturday afternoon.
The Basics
- Records: Wittenberg (3-0 overall), Rose-Hulman (0-3 overall)
- Venue: Terre Haute Bubble - Terre Haute, Ind.
- This marked the first all-time meeting between Wittenberg and Rose-Hulman.
The Match
- Wittenberg opened the match by winning all three doubles courts.
- Freshman Kylie Wilson (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty) and junior Caroline Sproule (Lewis Center, Ohio/Olentangy Orange) won 8-2 at No. 1 doubles, freshmen Breanna Ball (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy) and Sophia Pischalko (Granger, Ind./Penn) won 8-2 at No. 2 doubles, and freshmen Lilly Hartman (Lexington, Ky./Henry Clay) and Claire Loomis (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) won 8-3 at No. 3 doubles.
- The Tigers then won five of the six singles courts, falling only at No. 1 singles.
- Sproule won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2 singles.
- Loomis won 6-3, 6-4 at No. 3 singles.
- Pischalko won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 4 singles.
- Ball won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 singles.
- Hartman won 3-6, 6-2, 10-8 at No. 6 singles.
