Tigers Close Out Season At NCAC Championships

Gambier, OH – The Wittenberg Tiger Women's Tennis team closed out their season from the NCAC Championships. The Tigers took on Oberlin College in the opening round on Friday evening, falling to the Yeowomen, 5-2. Wittenberg responded on day two of competition with a big 5-3 win over the Fighting Scots from the College of Wooster.

The doubles pairing of Claire Stechow and Sidney Purks picked up the first Wittenberg win on the third court at 8-3.

Wittenberg nearly swept the singles courts, winning 5 of 6 courts. Ashley Isaac picked up a 6-2, 6-3 win on the first court. Sydney Khosla took down her opponent by a final decision of 6-2 and 6-2. PJ Meyers kept the momentum rolling for the Tigers on the fourth singles court with a win at 6-1,6-3. Purks secured the match victory for Wittenberg with the straight set win at 6-2,6-2.

Wittenberg ends their season with their best finish at the NCAC Championships since 2011.
