Tigers Take Down Franciscan

Dayton, OH – The Wittenberg Tiger women's tennis team picked up their second consecutive win, with a 7-2 defeat of Franciscan on Friday afternoon. The Tiger women's tennis team got the day started by taking 2 of 3 doubles courts, before moving on to take 5 of 6 singles courts.

The doubles pairing of PJ Meyers and Sidney Purks secured a comfortable 8-2 win at the second doubles court for the Tigers. Ashley Isaac and Meera Virk would earn a hard-fought 8-5 win at the first doubles position.

In singles action, Virk took her match in straight sets, winning 7-5 and taking the tie-breaker in the second set with a 7-6 win. Meyers handled her opponent in straight sets, with a final score of 6-1 and 6-2. The final three Tigers battled it out in three sets to take the win, Isaac earned a 6-0, 4-6, 6-0 win on first court. Purks secured a 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 win at the fourth singles position. Claire Stechow took the final singles win for the Tigers with a 7-5, 2-6, 10-3 win on the fifth court.
