Women's Tennis Takes Down OWU In NCAC Home Opener

Springfield, OH – The Wittenberg women's tennis team returned to the Albright Tennis Complex for their NCAC home opener, hosting the Battling Bishops from Ohio Wesleyan University. The Tigers secured the 8-1 win over the Battling Bishops, taking 2 of 3 doubles courts, before sweeping the singles action.

The duo of Ashley Isaac and Caroline Sproule picked up the 8-3 doubles win against their opponents from OWU. Meera Virk and Sidney Purks added a win on the third doubles court by way of an 8-3 decision.

PJ Meyers left her opponent scoreless with a 6-0, 6-0 win on the fifth singles court. Three Tigers dropped just three sets during their singles matches. Virk posted a 6-0, 6-3 win at the third singles spot. Sproule and Sydney Khosla each took their courts by way of a 6-1, 6-2 decision. Isaac outlasted her opponent in the first set with a 6-4, before cleaning up with a 6-0 sweep. Claire Stechow closed out the sweep on the singles courts for the Tigers with a 7-6, 6-2 win.
