Nicholasville, Kentucky – The Wittenberg University women's tennis team opened their southern Spring Break swing with a 6-3 in over Transylvania on Friday afternoon at the Top Seed Tennis Club. The win pushes the Tigers record to a perfect 3-0 on the young season.

Who Stood Out

Senior Alivia Livesay and freshman Sarah Wilke were both double winners for the Tigers in the key regional win. In doubles action, Wilke teamed with sophomore Kathleen McGuff for an 8-4 win in the second flight, while Livesay joined with classmate Carli Milano for a perfect 8-0 win in the third position.

With the Tigers leading the scoreline 2-1 after doubles play, four of the six singles matches went the way of Wittenberg as well, highlighted by sophomore Harunya Ravindran topping Alyssa Igyarto 6-3, 6-1 in the fourth flight to clinch the team win for the Tigers. The top singles win of the day came from junior Sarah Gallup as she took down Jessica Burton with a 6-7, 7-5, 10-8 come-from-behind victory in the second flight. Livesay than picked up her singles win in the third flight with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Kearstin Bruther, while Wilke notched a 6-1, 6-0 win in the sixth singles position against Shania Jones.
