SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers sent senior Jessica Harting (Lucasville, Ohio/Portsmouth Notre Dame) out on a high note with a thrilling 5-4 victory over Franciscan.

The win was anything but secure for the Tigers until the last singles matches were completed. Wittenberg, which improved to 5-15 on the season, took two of three doubles matches before splitting the six singles matches right down the middle.

Franciscan, which is in its first season as an intercollegiate program, fell to 10-5.

In doubles, the Tigers picked up an 8-0 win at No. 2 from freshmen Carli Milano (Beavercreek, Ohio/Carroll) and Sarah Frisch (Crescent Springs, Ky./Notre Dame) and followed that with an 8-5 win from sophomore Rayika Karachiwalla (Pune, India/International Baccalaureate (NY)) and freshman Alivia Livesay (Tryon, NC/Polk County) at No. 1.

In singles, Milano and Frisch completed their perfect afternoon with wins at No. 1 and No. 3, respectively. The clinching point came at No. 4 singles, where freshman Nora Jacobson (Easton, Md./Easton) was a straight-set victor.

The Tigers will return to action April 29-30 at the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Tournament.
