GRANVILLE, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers suffered a 9-0 loss at nationally ranked Denison.
The loss dropped the Tigers to 4-14 on the season, including a mark of 0-2 in the challenging North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) West Division. Denison, ranked 23rd nationally and fifth in the Central Region, improved to 9-7 overall and 2-0 in the league.
The match started with a doubles sweep by the Big Red, but not before the Tigers offered a stern challenge at the No. 2 position. Freshmen Carli Milano (Beavercreek, Ohio/Carroll) and Sarah Frisch (Crescent Springs, Ky./Notre Dame) battled to an 8-6 decision.
In singles, Milano won five games in her match at No. 1 to account for the Tigers' best showing.
