TIFFIN, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers earned the first win in the head coaching career of Nick Rohner with a 6-2 road win over Heidelberg.

The match was suspended after a decision was reached due to darkness. It is the only dual match on the fall schedule for the Tigers in the 2014-15 season.

The Tigers got off to a good start with two wins in three doubles matches. Freshman Rayika Karachiwalla (Pune, India/International Baccalaureate (NY)) and sophomore Parisa Bennett (Chillicothe, Ohio/Chillicothe) were winners at the No. 2 position by an 8-4 score, and senior Meghan Depew (Downingtown, Pa./West) teamed with senior Claudia Fenzi (San Donato Milanese, Italy) for a win by the same score at No. 3.

In singles, Wittenberg won four of the five matches, highlighted by a three-set decision that went to Bennett at the No. 4 position. Karachiwalla, sophomore Chelsea Reeder (Dayton, Ohio/Oakwood) and senior Georgia Bennett (Chillicothe, Ohio/Chillicothe) won in straight sets at the Nos. 1, 2 and 3 spots, respectively.

The win gave the Tigers some momentum heading into winter months. Wittenberg will return to action during Spring Break 2015 with five matches in Orlando, Fla.
