LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Wittenberg women's tennis team kicked off the second half of the 2013-14 season with a 5-4 loss to Heidelberg in a match played at Lexington Racquet Club.

The match was originally to be played on Oct. 5, 2013. However, rain forced a postponement after Wittenberg had won two of the three doubles matches. The two teams agreed to play the match over again from start to finish indoors.

Interestingly, the match started off in the same manner, with Wittenberg emerging from the doubles competition with a 2-1 advantage. Heidelberg rallied in the singles, however, winning four of the six matches to pull out the win.

The loss dropped Wittenberg to 2-1 on the season.

Freshman Chelsea Reeder (Dayton, Ohio/Oakwood) was the Tigers' lone double winner in the match as she picked up a 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles and teamed with freshman Olivia Underwood (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Marian) to win at No. 1 doubles by an 8-6 margin.

Sophomore Morgan McDermott (Wheeling, W.Va./The Linsley School) and senior Andrea Gaietto (Tiffin, Ohio/Calvert) won at No. 3 doubles and sophomore Jaimie Whaley (Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne) rounded things out with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 6 singles.
