OBERLIN, Ohio – The Wittenberg women's tennis team dropped a 5-1 decision to Wooster in a consolation match of the 2013 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Tournament.

The loss moved the Tigers to 5-11 on the season and relegated Wittenberg to a spot in the match to determine seventh and eighth place in the final standings. Wooster improved to 9-11 overall and will head to the fifth and sixth place match on Sunday.

Just like the previous week in a regular season match between the two teams, Wittenberg's lone point was earned at No. 2 doubles. The tandem of freshman Morgan McDermott (Wheeling, W.Va./The Linsley School) and sophomore Kaitlin Payne (Carmel, Ind./Heritage Christian) picked up an 8-5 victory.

The match was played to decision, meaning that all matches were stopped as soon as Wooster had accumulated enough points to secure the team victory.
