Tigers Register Clean Sweep Of Central State

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — It was a clean sweep for the Wittenberg women's tennis team against visiting Central State University as the Tigers evened their record at 8-8 on the season with a 9-0 victory.

Things started with a trio of 8-0 sweeps in the doubles competition as the Tigers picked up wins from sophomoreLeah Ann Miller (Springfield, Ohio/Catholic Central) and freshman Georgia Bennett (Chillicothe, Ohio/Chillicothe) at No. 1, senior Anne Beauch (North Canton, Ohio/Massillon Jackson) and junior Kristin Wright (Akron, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) at No. 2, and sophomore Andrea Gaietto (Tiffin, Ohio/Calvert) and juniorLisa Berman (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty) at No. 3.

Wittenberg capped the day with six 6-0, 6-0 whitewashings in singles. Miller was the winner at No. 1, senior Alex Cummins (New Lebanon, Ohio/Dixie) won at No. 2, Bennett was victorious at No. 3, senior Maggie Stewart (Bay Village, Ohio/Magnificat) captured the decision at No. 4, senior Kacia Nolan (Indianapolis, Ind./Speedway) topped the opponent at No. 5, and freshman Meghan Depew (Downingtown, Pa./West) rounded things out with a win at No. 6.
