Swimming And Diving Completes Sweep At Bluffton

Lima, Ohio - The Wittenberg men's and women's swimming and diving teams returned to competition after an extended winter break that included a training trip to sunny Florida and made the most of the opportunity, defeating host Bluffton in a meet at the Lima YMCA.

The Tiger women won 142-53 and the Tiger men won 119-21.

Event victories were numerous for the Tigers. On the women's side:

  • Addy Payne (Sidney, OH / Sidney) won the 1000-yard freestyle,
  • McKenna Clark (Waynesville, OH / Carroll) won the 200-yard freestyle, the 200-yard backstroke, the 100-yard butterfly,
  • Sophie Paskiet (Toledo, Ohio/St. Ursula) won the 100-yard backstroke, the 200-yard breaststroke,
  • Shania Stone (Cincinnati, OH / Princeton) won the 100-yard breastroke, the 100-yard freestyle,
  • Mackenzie Schuld (Rocky River, OH / Rocky River) won the 200-yard butterfly, the 500-yard freestyle, and the 200-yard IM.

For the Tiger men:

  • Jon Wasky (Kettering, OH / Fairmont) won the 1000-yard freestyle, the 200-yard backstroke,
  • Drew Vincent (Fleming, OH / Warren) won the 200-yard freestyle, the 100-yard freestyle,
  • Owen Gabel (New Bremen, OH / New Bremen) won the 100-yard backstroke, the 50-yard freestyle, the 500-yard freestyle,
  • Mason Steen (Leroy, OH / Riverside) won the 100-yard breaststroke, the 200-yard breaststroke,
  • Zach Parkman (Lancaster, OH / Fisher Catholic) won the 200-yard butterfly, the 100-yard butterfly.
