Tigers Fall In Home Meet

Springfield, OH- The Tigers started their competition filled weekend with a home meet against the Polar Bears of Ohio Northern for a non-conference matchup. The Tigers fell on both sides with the women scoring 67 compared to Ohio Northern's 114 and the men picked up 51 points to the Polar Bears 134.

The Women: Sophomore, Abby Dunasky started the night off on a high for the Tigers placing first in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 11:43.03. Freshman, Bridget Logan added another first place for Wittenberg with a time of 25.99 in the 50 yard freestyle. Marita Banta-Long finished not far off of Logan in the 50 yard freestyle, coming in second at 26.24. Senior, Claire Bergefurd was able to place third in the 200 yard freestyle, finishing at 2:10.87. Logan came back later in the night to continue her first place streak finishing the 100 yard freestyle at 57.41. The women finished the night with a first place finish in the 200 yard freestyle relay made up of Banta-Long, Bergefurd, Meggie Suffoletta, and Logan. The group finished with a time of 1:46.39.

The Men: Senior Brad Barren continues to lead the Tigers with first place finishes in the 50 yard freestyle (22.44) and 100 yard freestyle (49.14) but his efforts were not enough to catch the Polar Bears on the boards.

Wittenberg travelled to Canton, OH for the Malone Invitation soon after on November 16 to compete against eight other universities.
