LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY -- Women's Swimming and Diving took home the top spot at the Transylvania Invitational over the weekend. Wittenberg finished with 628.5 total points at the end of the weekend, narrowly defeating Emory & Henry College with 617.5 points.

Kaitlyn Black (Fort Wayne, Indiana/Homestead) and Dani Lacy (Louisville, Kentucky/Louisville Collegiate School) lead the Tigers to the top, both with first place finishes and multiple top four finishes on the weekend. 

WOMEN'S TOP FINISHES

  • Black started off in great fashion winning the 1-meter diving competition and finishing third in 3-meter diving.
  • Lacy lead the way all day for the Tigers, finishing in first place in the 100-yard freestyle and the 200-yard freestyle, as well as leading Wittenberg to third place finishes in the 400-yard medley relay and the 400-yard freestyle relay.
  • Erin Swardenski (Fremont, California/Washington), Madeline Kraft (Cape Elizabeth, Maine/Cape Elizabeth), Samantha Petruzzi (Medina, Ohio/Medina) and Lacy lead Wittenberg to a third place finish in the 200-yard medley relay.
  • Lacy concluded her day with a fourth place finish in the 50-yard freestyle.

FROM THE POOL DECK

  • "I'm extremely proud of the energy and camaraderie that the team displayed this weekend. We had some great performances that we can use as benchmarks from which to set goals for our conference performances," Head Coach Natalie Koukis reflected. "This weekend's performances will be motivation to head into our Florida training trip with confidence. 100-percent of the athletes competing on our team had a season-best performance in the past two days."

UP NEXT

  • The Tigers take a hiatus over the holiday and return to action for their training trip January 5, against Allegheny, in Coral Springs Florida.
