CHICAGO, Ill. - Freshman Kaitlyn Black (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) capped a tremendous inaugural collegiate season with a solid performance at the NCAA Division III Region 1 Diving Championship meet at the University of Chicago's Myers-McLoraine Pool.

After breaking multiple school records en route to All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) honors, Black became the first Tiger to reach the newly created NCAA regional diving competition. She placed 25th in the 1-meter competition on Friday, followed by 28th in the 3-meter on Saturday.

Black recorded a score of 393.25 in the 1-meter event, which was won was Maria Zarka of Kenyon with a score of 523.90. The next day, Black posted a mark of 383.30 in the 3-meter event as Zarka piled up 524.05 to comfortably complete the weekend sweep.

Unofficially, seven women competing in the Region 1 meet have qualified for the NCAA Division III National Championships March 18-21 in Shenandoah, Texas.
