Springfield, Ohio – Wittenberg University’s women’s swimming and diving team continued to produce outstanding results in the pool and in the classroom during the 2014 fall semester. In recognition of the Tigers’ exemplary performance, Wittenberg earned a College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team award.

The award honors teams that display excellence in the classroom by maintaining at least a 3.0 cumulative team grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale. The Tiger women posted a 3.05 cumulative grade point average during the fall 2014 semester. Wittenberg has earned Scholar All-America status every year since Head Coach Natalie Koukis took the reins of the program in 2004.

“I am pleased that the student-athletes in our program continue to show such pride in succeeding both in the classroom and in the pool,” said Koukis, who has a record of 83-38 in women’s dual meets and a mark of 70-54-1 in men’s dual meets at Wittenberg. “Student-athletes must show an extraordinary amount of dedication, commitment and organization to succeed at the collegiate level, and once again our team members have stepped up to meet the challenge.”

Wittenberg’s men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams both finished with dual meet records of 6-3 in the 2014-15 season. The Tiger men finished seventh in the 2015 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) championships, while the Tiger women placed fifth.
