DANVILLE, Ky. - The Wittenberg Tigers split their dual meet at Centre, with the women claiming a 116-107 victory but the men falling 124-115.

The win moved Wittenberg's women to 7-3 on the 2013-14 season, with one dual left on the docket - at Kenyon on Saturday, Feb. 1. The Tiger men are now 3-7.

Interestingly, it was the men that claimed a larger share of first-place finishes in the meet, starting with a victory in the 200-yard medley relay by the quartet of sophomore Stephen Stuthers (Pittsburgh, Pa./Central Catholic), junior James Dumstorf (Louisville, Ky./St. Xavier), freshman Jacob Griffith (Pickerington, Ohio/North) and junior Jared Crum (Galveston, Ind./Cass). Griffith added a win in the 200-yard Individual Medley and Dumstorf was tops in the 100-yard butterfly.

Two Tigers won more than one event individually in the meet. Junior Eric Roberts (Willits, Calif./Willits) was the top finisher in the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events, while junior AJ Burt (Wyoming, Ohio/Wyoming) continued to round into shape with blue ribbons in the 1000-yard freestyle, 500-yard freestyle and 100-yard breaststroke events. Burt spent the first semester studying off campus, but he has been strong since re-joining the team over the winter break.

On the women's side, the meet kicked off in strong fashion as well with a first in the 200-yard medley relay by senior Sarah Wilson (Centennial, Colo./Arapahoe), sophomore Madeline Kraft (Cape Elizabeth, Maine/Cape Elizabeth), freshman Amy Schulz (Waterloo, Iowa/Waterloo) and sophomore Dani Lacy (Louisville, Ky./Louisville Collegiate School). Wilson added a win in the 100-yard backstroke and Kraft was tops in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Lacy finished first in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle events, while freshman Kate Gustafson (West Hartford, Conn./Conard) won the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events.
