Springfield, Ohio – Wittenberg University’s men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams recently earned College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team awards for the fall 2013 semester.

The award honors teams that display excellence in the classroom by maintaining at least a 3.0 cumulative team grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale. The Tiger men compiled a 3.01 GPA, while the Tiger women posted a 3.17. Wittenberg’s women have earned Scholar All-America status every year since Head Coach Natalie Koukis took the reins of the program in 2004.

“I am very proud of the student-athletes in our program who continue show such tremendous pride in succeeding both in the classroom and in the pool,” said Koukis, who has a record of 77-35 in women’s dual meets and a mark of 64-51-1 in men’s dual meets at Wittenberg. “Student-athletes must show an extraordinary amount of dedication, commitment and organization to succeed at the collegiate level, and once again Wittenberg’s swimming and diving teams have met the challenge.”
