Tigers Sweep Early Dual Meet

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Tiger men's and women's swimming and diving teams jumpstarted their 2008-09 dual meet campaign with a pair of victories over Ohio Wesleyan, with the men topping the Bishops 155-78 while the women cruised to a 147-91 win.

Leading the way for Natalie Koukis' squads was junior Kristin Elber (Brunswick, Ohio/Brunswick), who put together a pair of victories on the night, coming away with 100- and 200-yard freestyle titles. She would be one of many double-winners on the night for the Tigers, an honor shared by freshman Cecilia Wille (Knoxville, Tenn./Farragut) who took the 500 freestyle as well as the 100 butterfly.

On another strong showcase for the youth of the Tiger swimming and diving teams, freshman Rachel Lee (Hickory, NC/Hickory) won the 1000 freestyle on the women's side, while fellow freshman Mickey Murphy (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) mirrored the accomplishment for the men.

The men's diving squad was led by a double-winner of its own as junior Matt Erenpreiss (Columbus, OH/Centennial) took both the 1-meter and 3-meter titles.

The dual meet season continues with a trip to Wooster Saturday, Nov. 1, when the Scots and the Tigers meet at 1 p.m.
