University Heights, OH – The Wittenberg Tiger women's soccer team dropped a tough battle on the road at John Carroll, 3-1, on Wednesday night. The Tigers got off 13 shots on the night, with Wittenberg striking first in the 14th minute of the action.
Mackenzie Hessick slotted her first goal of the season and second of her Wittenberg career. John Carroll would come back moments later to even the score at 1-1 before the half. The Blue Streaks would tally two unanswered goals in the second half, sealing the 3-1 victory.
Lily Winkle would stand tall all 90 minutes in net for the Tigers. Facing seven shots on goal, Winkle made four saves with three goals against.
Rachel Spencer and Alex Hill posted three shots apiece for the Wittenberg attack. Hill would manage to put one shot on target.
Wittenberg will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 9, hosting Albion College for a Senior Day celebration at 3:30 PM.
