Springfield, OH -- Saturday afternoon was Senior Day for the Wittenberg Tigers, celebrating seniors Emily Wile Maria Miller Sydney Artis Alix Steele Emma Schewe and Clare Neltner. This kickstarted the game against the Hiram Terriers into high gear, starting the match with high energy. With forwards Amy Bidwill and Hannah Heald leading the way, the Tigers finished their festivities with a victory of 5-1.

Keeping the ball on the Terrier side fo the field, Heald scored the first goal in the 20th minute with the assist from midfielder Brooke Peters. The Tigers made the most of their chances having 12 total shots, 11 on frame. It was an offense heavy match for the Tigers, with defenders Miller and Cassidy Webber holding the back line, pushing Hiram up to midfield. This allowed for only four total shots on goal against keeper Badin Clark, all in the second half with one goal for the Terriers in the 87th minute.

Led by Wile, the middle was held down making way for sideline plays and through balls. This helped the Tigers as Heald connected with Bidwill for goal number two just three minutes in the second half. With this goal, the Tigers changed the pace of the match leading the way for freshman Morgan Bush to take advantage of her playing time, scoring the third goal in minute 75. Less than two minutes following was Bidwill's second goal of the night making it 4-0.

With time winding down and seniors receiving applauses for their final sub-out, younger players were able to add playing time to their stat sheets. Freshman Lindsey Magoteaux tallied in another goal just under three minutes remaining in the game, closing the evening with a 5-1 win for the Tigers.

Wittenberg will be traveling to Columbus to take on the Capital Crusaders Tuesday, September 28 at 7 p.m.
