Women's Soccer Announces 2020 Recruiting Class

Springfield, OH - The Wittenberg Women's Soccer team has announced their 2020 recruiting class and will welcome 11 new players to the Red and White. 

Katie Wisniewski, a Sylvania, Ohio native graduates this year from Notre Dame Academy in Toledo.  She completes her high school career a Second Team All-TRAC recipient in 2019. Wisniewski also led her NDA team to a Regional Championship and eventually the OHSAA Final Four in 2016, including three District Championships (2016-2018). Off the field, she is a three-time All-TRAC Academic Award recipient and an All-Ohio Academic Award recipient in 2019. Wisniewski is also a Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership School Representative, a Link Crew Leader, and an International Baccalaureate Certificate Candidate. She is a goalkeeper and played club soccer for Pacesetter Soccer Club before focusing on individual training. 

Katie is the daughter of Sarah and Jeff Wisniewski and has two siblings: A brother, Tyler, and a sister, Libby.

Emma Secrest from Westerville, Ohio joins Wittenberg as she concludes her career at Westerville South High School. She was named team captain and was awarded both First Team All-OCC and Team MVP her senior season. Secrest also swam for the Wildcats for two years, qualifying for Districts as a freshman in an individual event, and qualifying for Districts both years in relays. In the classroom, she was a four-time Scholar-Athlete with a 4.0 or above each year and participated in National Honors Society and the Amnesty International Club.  Secrest is a defender and plays club soccer for Sporting Columbus. 

Emma is the daughter of Jennifer (Wittenberg '99) and Eric Secrest and has a brotherJack.

Paige Kaiser joins the team from New Philadelphia, Ohio where she will graduate from New Philadelphia High School. Her sophomore year, her team advanced to the Division II State Tournament. As a junior, Kaiser received First Team All-Eastern District. In her senior season, Kaiser received First Team All-Conference, All-Eastern District and was named the Eastern District Payer of the Year, while also receiving Second Team All-State honors. Paige was also an accomplished basketball player at New Philadelphia, making it to the Final Four and Elite Eight of the State Tournament in 2018 and 2019. Kaiser is a midfielder and plays club soccer for Ohio Strikers United. 

Paige is the daughter of Greg Kaiser and Heather Poloisky and has a brother Joshua and sister Tori.

Brianna West joins Wittenberg from Fairfield Union High School. While there, West and her team were MSL and District Champs for two years.  West also participated in both swim and track and field.  Off the field, West was on the All A Honor Roll, a member of the National Honor Society and the National Society of High School Scholars, and regularly volunteers at Fairfield Medical Center. She is a Forward and plays club for Pride SC. 

Brianna is the daughter of Troy and Bobbie West.

Alyson Parks comes to the Tigers from Granville, Ohio where she will graduate from Granville High School. While at Granville, she played four years of soccer and awarded Second Team All-LCL and Most Improved Player. Parks and her team were Regional Champions in 2019 and appeared in the State Final Four that same season. Off the field, she was a four-time Academic Award winner.  Parks, a defender, plays club soccer for Barcelona United Academy. 

  

Alyson is the daughter of Traci and Scott Parks and has a brother Owen.

Victoria King joins the Red and White from Cincinnati where she will graduate from Turpin High School. At Turpin, she was the recipient of the Spartan Heart Award given to the teammate who has the most impact on other players, both on and off the field. King is a forward from Kings Hammer Academy.   

Victoria is the daughter of Catherine King, and has three brothers – Tyberious, Caleb, and Keegan.

Catie Oerther comes to the Tigers from Smithfield, Kentucky where she will graduate from Henry County High School. She received All-Conference, was an All-Region Honorable Mention, and named Best Defensive Player on her team. Oerther was also a team Captain. At Henry County, Oerther was the class Valedictorian, an NHS Historian, Secretary for her class and will be graduating high school with her Associate's Degree in Science. Oerther is a defender from United 1996 KY. 

Catie is the daughter of Brian and Mary, and has two brothers, Aidan and Luke.

Badin Clark, a Lebanon, Ohio native, will graduate from Springboro High School. As a Panther, she led her team to the District Finals in 2018. As a senior, Clark and her team were GWOC Conference Champions. Her senior year, she was awarded the Panther Pride Team MVP Award.  Off the field, Clark participated in NHS and is a volunteer at the Riding Institute in Spring Valley. Clark is a Goalkeeper and plays club soccer for Ohio Galaxies where she was awarded the Vincent J. Cohen Memorial Scholarship this year. 

Badin is the daughter of Berkley and Randy Clark and has two sisters, Waverly and Ella.

Andi Meeks is from Springfield and joins the Tigers this year after graduating from Shawnee High School. During her time with the Braves, Meeks received First Team All-CBC, All-Miami Valley, and All-District accolades. She was also a team Captain starting her junior year and named Team MVP. When Meeks was not on the soccer field, she was also the Field Goal Kicker for the Braves, and a First Team All-District and All-County basketball player. Off the field and court, Meeks excels in the classroom as top 3% of her class. She is a midfielder who plays club soccer with the Springfield Sting. 

Andi is the daughter of Rick and Kristin Meeks, and has a sister, Katie, and a brother, TJ.

Emma Lindsey, from Powell, joins the team from Olentangy Liberty High School, where her team was District Champions in 2016, and District and Regional Champions, which led to an appearance in the State Final Four in 2017. In 2018, she received All-OCC Honorable Mention, and Most Improved Player. Her senior year, Lindsey was a team captain and was named First Team All-OCC. Lindsey will graduate Magna Cum Laude with an Honors Diploma, and received the Presidential Award. She is also a member of NHS. Lindsey plays club soccer for Ohio Premier out of Dublin, OH. 

Emma is the daughter of Michael and Gretchen Lindsey, and has a sister Isabelle.

Kenzie Bushong, comes to Wittenberg from Plain City, OH, where she attended Jonathan Alder High School. Bushong was a four-year letter winner in soccer and received Second Team All-Conference. She also participated in basketball. At Jonathan Alder, Bushong achieved straight A's and received the Top Chemist Award. Bushong is a forward and plays club soccer for Northwest FC. 

She is the daughter of Doug and Teri Bushong and has a twin sister, Sydnie, who will also be attending Wittenberg this fall and will be our team manager.
