Double OT Ends in Tie for the Tigers

Hanover, IN- Wittenberg travelled to Hanover, IN to face off against the Hanover Panthers. Hanover was quick to make noise with a goal by Kelsey Hughes and assist from Anna Smith in the first minutes of the game at 3:24. Maggie Day was able to do it again for the Panthers at 34:13 with an assist from Josie Dattilo.

The Tigers were able to respond quickly after Hanover's second goal. Alix Steele was able to break free and put Wittenberg on the board at 34:32. The Tigers went into the half down by one. Hanover kept the lead until the last moments of the game when Wittenberg's Jasmine Evans was able to score unassisted at 89:04 to take the game into overtime. With an unsuccessful shot by each team, the teams headed into a second overtime. Wittenberg's Kelly Corbin faced one of Hanover's nine shots and it became one of her three saves to end the game in a tie.

Up Next- Wittenberg will be back in action Sunday, September 15th at 3 PM as they take on Capital on Edwards-Maurer Field.
