Women's Soccer Can't Hold Onto Lead Against No. 12 Centre

Springfield, OH- The Tigers faced off against Centre College from Edwards-Maurer Field on Saturday afternoon. Wittenberg's goalkeeper, Kelly Corbin, saw plenty of action right out of the gate, making two saves in the first nine minutes of the game. The Colonels had an aggressive start with five shots in the first twenty-five minutes. Wittenberg's Brooke Peters was able to get a shot off for the Red and White, scoring first goal of the game and putting the Tigers on the board in the 22nd minute.

Centre pushed the pace of the game with eight shots in the first half but was unable to score until 41st with a goal from Annie Stauffer. Wittenberg went into the half tied. Coming out of the half, Centre continued to push the pace of the game and The Colonels, Gracie Fitzgerald was able to score at 64:47 to bring the Colonels ahead.

Wittenberg Key Players

Kelly Corbin was in the net for fourty-five minutes and had five saves.

Emma Schewe was in the goal for fourty-five minutes and had three saves for the Tigers.

Brooke Peters had one shot and one goal against Centre.

The Wittenberg backline and midfield saw support from Emma Thacker, Emily Wile and Carly Stang
