Coach Robinson Announces 2019 Recruiting Class

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Wittenberg Women's Soccer team has announced their 2019 recruiting class and welcome 8 new players to the Red and White.

Shannon Riley, a Loveland, Ohio native graduates this year from Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy.  She completes her high school career a 2nd Team All-MVC nominee in 2016, and a 1st Team All-MVC nominee in 2017 and 2018.  She was also named All-Southwest Ohio in both 2017 and 2018. CHCA Girls Soccer named Shannon Best Defensive Player her sophomore and junior year, and Best All-Around Player her senior year. Off of the field, she participated in National Honor Society and achieved High Honors. She is a defender and plays club soccer for Ohio Elite.

Shannon is the daughter of Jon and Christy, and has a brother, Jack, who attends University of Cincinnati.

Cassidy Webber from Hilliard, Ohio joins Wittenberg as she concludes her career at Hilliard Darby High School. She played soccer for three years and was a 2 time 2nd Team All-OCC award winner, the Darby Girls Soccer 2018 Defensive Player of the Year, and a Captain of her team her senior year. In the classroom, she was a 2 time Scholar-Athlete and a 3 time Academic Award winner.  Cassidy is a defender and plays club soccer for Club Ohio based out of Dublin.

Cassidy is the daughter of Marci and David and has a sister named Brittany.

Amy Bidwill joins the team from Pompano Beach, FL and will graduate from Cardinal Gibbons High School as a Girls Soccer State Finalist. She also was an All Broward County Honorable Mention in her junior season, and an All Broward County 2nd Team award winner her senior year. She received the Team Golden Goal Award for two years straight for her goals in the Regional Quarterfinal in 2018 and in the State Semi-Final in 2019. Amy is a forward and plays club soccer for Fort Lauderdale FC.

Bidwill is the daughter of Marty & Michelle and has a brother, Joey, and 2 sisters, Veronica and Stephanie. Amy's father is a Witt Football Alum and her sisters also attend Wittenberg.

Grace Nation joins Wittenberg from Centerville High School, where she was a Conference Champion in 2016, a Sectional Champion in 2017, and a District Finalist in 2018. In her career at Centerville, she scored 19 goals and had 12 assists. Grace was also an ODP State Team Selection in 2015. Nation played is a forward and plays club soccer for Club Ohio Dayton.

Grace is the daughter of Kelly and Elizabeth, and has 2 sisters - Sophie, and Maggie, who attends the University of Dayton.

Olivia Witman comes to the Tigers from Dayton, Ohio and will graduate from Wayne High School, where she played soccer for four years. While at Wayne, she was awarded 2nd team All GWOC and was named to the MVSSCA All-Star Team her senior year. She also achieved the GWOC Scholar Athlete Award.  Witman, a defender, plays club soccer for Butler United.

Olivia is the daughter of Tonya and Rob and has a brother, Matthew.

Alexis Evangelou , known as Lex, joins us from Cincinnati where she will graduate from Oak Hills High School. At Oak Hills, she was in National Honor Society, was a Scholar-Athlete, achieved Highest Honors, and was a part of the German Honors Society. Evangelou is a midfielder from Alliance Cincinnati Elite. 

Alexis is the daughter of Katie and Dimitri, and has a brother, Auggie.

Brooke Peters comes to the Tigers from Cincinnati, Ohio where she will graduate from Anderson High School. She was an All ECC Honorable Mention and won the Cincinnati Enquirer Heart and Hustle Award. At Anderson, Brooke was also a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, was an "Anderson Achiever" and won the All ECC Academic Award. Peters is a midfielder from Alliance Cincinnati Elite.

Brooke is the daughter of Scott and Julie, and has two sisters, Megan and Katelyn. Katelyn attends the University of Kentucky.

Madelyn Smith, a Delaware, Ohio native, graduated in 2018 from Delaware Hayes High School and joins the Tigers as a transfer for the 2019 season.  In her first year at Lake Erie College, she attained Dean's List status for both semesters. Maddie also played club soccer for Classics Eagles out of Columbus.

Smith is the daughter of Jon and Tori, and has a sister, Grace, and a brother, Nick.
