Springfield, Ohio – It was a back and forth battle for 94-minutes before the Wittenberg women's soccer team broke the 0-0 tie in the first overtime defeating the Battling Bishops of Ohio Wesleyan in the pivotal North Coast Athletic Conference matchup. The Tigers captured a crucial three points, moving into a tie for third place with Kenyon. Wittenberg now owns a conference record of 3-2-2 and 5-8-3 on the season.
Game Breakdown
The Tigers took a 0-0 draw into the break, leading the shot count at 5-4. Wittenberg would come out firing on all cylinders in the second half, as the Tigers recorded 11 of their 17 shots in the second 45-minutes. As the first overtime got underway, the Battling Bishops found their offense taking three quick shots. Though Wittenberg was able to produce one shot in the overtime it was the shot that mattered most, Emily Wile found the back of the Ohio Wesleyan net off the Sydney Artis corner kick to end the game in the 94th minute. Kelly Corbin recorded four saves on four shots on goal, tallying her fourth clean sheet of the season.

Wittenberg will return to action to celebrate their Senior Day on Saturday, Oct. 27 when they host the Terriers of Hiram College in their final NCAC battle of the season.
