Tigers Fall to Wooster, 2-0

Wooster, Ohio – The Wittenberg women's soccer team traveled to the College of Wooster during Homecoming weekend, taking on the Fighting Scots in a North Coast Athletic Conference showdown on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers were taken down by the Scots 2-0, after only able to put two shots on goal through 90 minutes of action. The red and white now tally an even NCAC record after three games, meanwhile 3-6-2 overall.

Game Breakdown

Immediately after a key defensive save by Wittenberg in the box, Wooster was able to put the ball into the net off the rebound in the first half. The only other goal of the game came in the 84th minute of the contest, coming off the foot of a Wooster penalty kick.

The Tigers were unable to break past the Wooster midfield, finding themselves with three shots, two on goal, and three corner kicks through the competition, all of which came in the first half. Shannon Brueck and Emily Wile were credited the only two shots on goal for the game.

Kelly Corbin tallied three saves during her 90 minutes in net.
